Yodit Yemane - Consultant

In her role supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Yodit Yemane thrives on tackling complex challenges with the goal of improving healthcare for veterans. In her personal life, she’s in her “toddler era” as a busy mom to two young boys. And she is eagerly awaiting a new addition to her family: a tiny Shih Tzu puppy.

What’s your favorite part of working at Tria?

My favorite part of working at Tria is the ability to connect with everyone, tap into available resources and get involved in efforts outside of client work. I appreciate leadership’s open lines of communication. Tria’s support system and investment in employees’ careers is unmatched.

What accomplishments during your time at Tria are you most proud of?

While at Tria, I have obtained both my Certified Scrum Master and Project Management Professional certifications. Tria has been incredibly supportive of my continued education and professional growth.

I am also proud of improving the functionality of a PowerBI Dashboard, which tracks how clinicians and administrative staff use certain tools and ensures that veterans receive the highest quality care possible.

How do you create a sense of teamwork with coworkers?

I find clear communication is key in developing good working relationships; this might sound clichéd, but it is true. Second, it is important to develop trust and respect among coworkers. Everyone has something to bring to the table, and it is amazing to see the work of a really strong team. Third, it is important that each individual on the team is given the autonomy to own their work.

What do you do in your free time?

I love spending time with my husband and our two young sons. We enjoy reading books and discovering new playgrounds and parks.

What is one thing ChatGPT couldn’t find out about you on the Internet?

We are preparing to adopt a beautiful Shih Tzu puppy, which will be a surprise for my sons. My brother-in-law’s Shih Tzu gave birth to six puppies, and only one was a female. Because I’m outnumbered at home with a husband and two sons, I immediately picked her. Shih Tzus are tiny but adventurous, and I look forward to taking her hiking.

How do you hope to grow in your role?

I want to continuously help to improve the lives of veterans by using technologies such as artificial intelligence to ensure they receive the highest quality care as soon as it’s needed.
