Welcome to Tria Labs

Tria Labs, our new technology innovation group, is led by Chief Technology Officer John Cho and a team of engineers, developers and technologists.

They proactively develop and test emerging technologies and solutions for some of the biggest problems facing the federal government, with a focus on mission areas where artificial intelligence, low-code/no-code development, intelligent automation, and cybersecurity will play critical roles.

"Tria Labs is a way for Tria to demonstrate thought leadership."

"We wanted to find a tangible way to bring tough problems out of the government into a place where we could really incubate solutions for them. Through Tria Labs, our best and brightest are focused on solving hard problems."

- Chief Technology Officer John Cho

  • Research and Development

The creation of Tria Labs underscores Tria’s commitment to supporting independent research and development (IRAD) technology projects. Tria Labs ushers internal projects through a rigorous vetting process and pushes them into three key phases: inspiration, ideation, and implementation.

Projects are be deemed successful based on a variety of key performance indicators relevant to Tria’s customers, including time and money saved and number of errors reduced.

  • Rapid Prototyping

Tria Labs pursues rapid, lightweight productized solution development to provide greater value to our customers and help future-proof the federal government. Tria Labs is taking an iterative, agile approach to quickly determine what is worth investing in going forward.

We believe the government wants us to move fast. This means creating a higher velocity set of processes without heavy governance. We can explore a solution or an emerging technology in an entrepreneurial way, quickly determining if we want to spend more time investing in developing it or need to move on.

  • Collaboration

Tria Labs’ new collaborative workspace and meeting area at Tria’s Arlington headquarters serves as an innovation hub and meeting space for coworkers, partners, and customers. Using interactive smart boards, a multimedia studio, and other collaboration tools, Tria Labs enables substantive remote participation from contributors across the country.

Tria Labs is also building relationships with best-in-class technology firms developing innovative solutions inside and outside of the government ecosystem, to ensure that federal agencies have access to the best tools for their complex challenges.
