Shilpa Deshpande works on robotic process automation (RPA), artificial intelligence and machine learning for Tria Labs, Tria’s technology innovation group. In her time off, she enjoys traveling, strength training, classical Indian dance and family karaoke nights.
What achievements during your time at Tria are you most proud of?
My responsibilities and job descriptions have changed significantly in recent years, and I am proud of the fact that I have adapted to new roles and new teams, while continuing to perform efficiently. Although I have been involved in a couple of wins for the company, my most important accomplishment is the relationships I have built with colleagues over the years.
How do you hope to grow in your role?
Right now, I am focused on building Tria’s RPA team. My next goal is to master the RPA tools and technology skills that I have recently acquired. I am also excited to support the independent R&D projects that will come out of Tria Labs starting this summer.
How do you find purpose in your job?
My purpose at Tria is to do my job to the best of my ability and with integrity and honesty. Figuring out new technologies, tools and applications is a good challenge for me. Determining ways to reduce errors and boost efficiency in our customers’ processes motivates me. Every proposal I work on is a learning opportunity that exposes me to a world of diverse skills and capabilities.
What’s your favorite part of working at Tria?
It has to be the people I work with on a daily basis. I was pleasantly surprised by the seamlessness of the merger of Tria’s three legacy companies in 2022-2023. Everyone is eager to work together.
What do you do outside of work?
I have a 13-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter, and I love hanging out with them and my husband. My daughter and I are learning Kuchipudi, an ancient South Indian dance form that requires a lot of precision and technique. She and I practice together at home. We also have family karaoke nights; my husband and children are awesome singers, and I am the audience. Other than that, I love working out in my home gym, mostly doing strength training.
What is one thing AI couldn’t find out about you on the Internet?
I am a big-time trivia nerd and did not miss a single episode of “Jeopardy!” when Alex Trebek (RIP) was hosting. My favorite thing to do is to watch quiz shows.
